Instructor
Chris Moore Pirtle is a highly respected figure in the world of search and rescue, renowned for her expertise in training and handling Human Remains Detection Dogs/Cadaver Dogs. Chris has worked with the FBI, Law Enforcement and voluntary teams across the USA. Chris, a dog handler with TexSAR (Texas Search and Rescue) is also a certified Instructor with Global K9 Safety Ops.

Day 1: Land Based and Vehicle Search Cadaver
Building on Cadaver Dog Foundations. Dogs will be worked on multiple terrains with different scenarios. We will work on building the dogs drive to search, handler search strategy (how you change to adapt to the changing environment) and developing solid indications in your dog.
We will work on different source type including wet/heavy scent and lighter and bone scent. Dogs can work on or off lead.
Day 2: Buried Cadaver
Building on Cadaver Dog Foundations. Dogs do not need to have completed Day 1 to participate. We will work on introducing the dog to scent buried below the soil surface. Attendee's will be shown how to plan out a search for buried remains in various terrains, work your dog more closely to them and how to get solid indications from their dog with a scent source they can't reach. We will work on different source type including wet/heavy scent and lighter and bone scent. Dogs can work on or off lead.
